![]() Moffett was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose guidance, wisdom, and love will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him. He served as a volunteer firefighter with Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years. Always active, Moffett was a member of the Fairview Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and a member of White Plains Shine Club for over 30 years. He especially loved fishing trip to the coast. Moffett enjoyed farming and was an avid fisherman. He worked for Eastern Airlines as a baggage handler. Moffett was a longtime member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church and served his country honorably in the US Army. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Raymond and Mary Hovis Scism and was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Nolan, Bruce, and Paul Scism.
